Here is one of my favorite models, and perhaps one of the most overlooked by site members*. I'm reposting it as an update now, as we bring all our earlier content into the new format. Yelena was just 19 when this session was done, in my old Emeryville studio during a photo workshop. She was an agency model, but happy to do some nudes for my small group of students. These shots of mine were done as simple demonstrations of lighting and posing, but I think they turned out to be some of my most compelling nude portraits. (A separate series of b&w shots from this day will be going up shortly) *By the way, it's come to my attention that some Private Archive members may be missing out on about 50% of our content, if they are only viewing galleries with the large cover shots displayed in the center panel of the Archive Home page. Please be aware that the text links in the left side column represent about twice as many sets as the center thumbnail display. (scroll down all the way to the end to view the earlier sets.) PS: we're aware of the odd vertical stretch in the main cover display of Yelena - it's a problem in the php coding, which we hope to get fixed shortly.
